Frequently Asked Questions
Can I enter more than one audition?
Yes! There is a maximum of 3 ACT entries per person. So if you are a solo singer, instrumental band member and magician… then that would be fine to enter into 3 separate acts. You can not enter 3 acts in the same style… eg. 3 singing solo songs.
How much is entry into the competition?
We have tried to keep costs low so $5 per person. These funds go straight into the cash prizes fund and hall hire costs. IF you make it into the finals, you will receive an invitation to perform to complete for the cash prizes.
Can an adult accompany my song on piano or guitar?
We do not provide an accompanist and prefer to have a backing track. However, we can talk about your needs for your specific audition.
What type of performance can I do?
Anything! Well, almost anything! Whatever you believe to be entertaining (and appropriate). It may include singing, any kind of music, comedy, magic, cheer, dance, impressions, contortion, martial arts, drama, poetry, cultural performance, spoken word, jokes… it’s up to you!
When is this happening? And where?
El Arish RSL Memorial Hall
5th April for first auditions
12th April for FINAL performance/ competition
(Applications for auditions close 5pm 15th March 2025)
What happens if I disagree with the judges?
Well, the judges’ decision is final and not to be challenged. You must agree to this in the terms and conditions of entry for auditions. If you disagree with the judges, you will learn that sportsmanship and respect for any competition is a valuable lesson to learn. All judges are experts in their given field and have many years experience and profound knowledge.
Can my family watch my audition?
Yes. Tickets for audience members for the first auditions are $5 per person (under 5yrs old free). However, for the final performance, audience tickets are $10/person and under 5yrs old free. Each act must have ONE adult backstage to help prepare to go on stage.
Original works or choreographed works?
It is completely up to the performer if they want to use original works/creations or a piece they have been performing for a while or choreographed by a teacher. Remember the judges are looking for authentic and creative talents… not necessarily the most polished performance.
